Merry Christmas

29/08/2011We would like to wish all our visitors - both from this year and previous years - a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. We hope to see you all once again in 2012. Best wishes.

New Email Address

29/08/2011

We now have a dedicated email address for the holiday cottage - joan@railwaycottages.co.uk.

Don't worry - you can still use the old email address as I'm running them both.

Olympics 2012

29/08/2011

The 2012 Olympic Torch will be in the Whitby area on Monday 18 June. Why not book your holiday and make a date to see the Torch as it passes through the area. You could have a full week and fit in lots of other activities/sights as well or take a short break to see the Torch pass through the scenic North York Moors. An opportunity not to be missed.

Winter Weather

29/08/2011

Wondering whether to book a holiday only to find a heavy snowfall stops you getting to your destination. Don't worry! If this happens you to we will be happy to move your dates. So book a winter break with confidence - we'd love to see you - and Whitby can be quite magical during the winter.

25/08/2011Who says we don't get any sun in North Yorkshire? These nectarines are ripening in the late summer sunshine.

25/08/2011Lovely late summer colour - even after today's heavy rain. A sun flower always cheers you up!

You can watch the North York Moors Steam Trains from the garden. An excellent photo opportunity! The trains pass the cottage 6 times per day and often include special diesel engines too. A dream for any railway enthusiast.
