This is Cyril the Squirrel - yes we had to name him as he is such a frequent visitor to our bird feeder. He comes 2-3 times a day and eats more peanuts than the birds. He uses his tail to hand upside down to get at the peanuts - not sure how he manages to swallow again gravity!!

The repairs to the railway bridge are progressing, albeit rather slowly - yet there's years' worth of neglect to repair. The newly painted parts are a lovely dark green. When finished the bridge will have been changed from something of an eyesore into something worth looking at! All this work should help to safeguard the future of the railway line.

This is one for the gardeners. Not everything has done well this years. The spuds have been very successful - dug up 32 lbs today. These are second earlies and will store while we eat the first earlies dug up several weeks ago.

The summer weather might not be what we were expecting but again Nature has come up trumps - the garden is looking very colourful!
