Yesterday's heavy rain brought flooding from the river last night. This was the picture this morning. The river level was over the lower part of the bridge scaffolding and work has stopped until the level drops again. The garden is full of leaves and tons of mud & silt and wood and debris are trapped under the scaffolding.

We are always safe in the cottages as they are much higher up and have never flooded. However the railway workers did call at 10 pm last night to check that we were OK, which was very kind of them.

The repairs on the railway bridge are continuing. The work is moving down the bridge away from us. The smart newly painted green railings can now be seen. A whole new base is being laid on top of the bridge. They have even built suspended platforms under the bridge so they can paint the pillars. Not sure how much longer they will be, but they are having to work around the trains, the tides and the weather! Painting the Forth Rail Bridge springs to mind!!

Rickshaw Challenge

The Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge came past the cottage on Sunday afternoon - complete with Pudsey bear, of course! Unfortunately, didn't have the camera with me (typical!!).
